After graduating from The University of Chicago Law School, Adam spent the first five years of his career as a litigation associate in the New York Office of O’Melveny & Myers LLP, a large global law firm.


At O’Melveny & Myers, Adam handled a wide variety of complex commercial litigation matters, including class actions, insurance coverage disputes, securities fraud and breach of contract claims. He has experience handling cases in various federal and state courts and with large-scale mediations.


Adam was honored by the New York State Bar Association for three consecutive years for his pro bono work in representing low-income housing residents and successfully obtaining asylum for a Togolese citizen in Immigration Court.



Illustrative Professional Experience

  • Won summary judgment on behalf of hospital on issue of first impression enforcing hospital lien against insurance company despite hospital's failure to comply with statutory notice requirements.
  • Defended a Fortune 50 health care company and certain of its officers and directors in multi-billion dollar shareholder and derivative class action lawsuits and related SEC investigations. In re United Health Group Incorporated PSLRA Litigation, Civil Action No. 0:06-CV-1691-JMR-FLN (D. Minn.).
  • Represented excess insurer in large-scale mediation of multi-billion dollar subrogation claims arising out of property damage from the 2007 San Diego Wildfires.
  • Defended a real estate development company in cases arising out of the March 15, 2008 crane collapse in New York, including insurance coverage disputes in federal and state court, as well as state court actions for wrongful death, personal injury and property damage.   • Represented former Major League Baseball player in IP and breach of contract suit involving magazine publisher. TPC Operations, LLC and Lenny Dykstra v. Doubledown Media, LLC, and Randall Lane, No.: 08-Civ-3912 (S.D.N.Y.).
  • Defended leading technology manufacturer in breach of contract claim regarding interpretation of earn-out agreement in stock purchase agreement. Harkabi v. SanDisk, No.: 08-Civ-8203 (S.D.N.Y.).
  • Obtained pre-trial dismissal of personal injury and wrongful death claims in New York Supreme Court on behalf of leading industrial manufacturer. Demers v. Abex Corp. et. al., No. 108859/04 (N.Y.Sup.Ct., N.Y. Cty.).
  • Defended former New York City employee in wrongful death and personal injury cases arising out of the October 15, 2003 Staten Island Ferry Crash. In re City of New York No. 1:03-Civ-06049 (E.D.N.Y.).
